Hi folks,
Back at home now after a long tour taking in almost a dozen countries. Had some fantastic shows even though I was battling a bit of a flu for part of the tour as were much of the population of Europe! The long winter had taken it's toll on me and many. I dug deep each night best I could and I don't think anyone at the shows noticed. Apologies to the people in Lille for cancelling the show. Travelling was impossible that day due to snow. It will be rescheduled to go ahead in june. Stay tuned for details.
The new album "Distant Empires" is officially released in the UK shortly and initial reviews are incredibly positive. Maverick magazine awarded the album 4.5 stars and fans are giving me amazing feedback about it. So fingers crossed that is a good sign of things to come. Never know with these things. See what happens. It should have been out last year, but the album has had a difficult birth. I was kind of obsessed about it with the writing, mix, string arrangements and also I had problems and delays in manufacture. Anyway all very boring but it is finally here and I really feel comfortable letting it go now. It will be available through all the usual channels in may. Until then it is available through the website shop.
Dates are coming in all over Europe and the UK for my first ever band tour! I am very excited about it and something we have been working towards for a while. Dates will all be announced soon.
Nice to catch my breath at home for a bit. I do have some solo shows and a couple with Rick over the next couple of months in the UK. See the gig list for details.

Happy new year folks,
Hope you all had a good break over Christmas and the New Year. I have been off the road relaxing at home the past few weeks. After an extremely busy 2012 it was a welcome relief.
2013 is shaping up to be a bigger and busier year than the last. The new album "Distant Empires" will be released out for reviews, digital release etc.. etc... All that kind of thing over the coming months. Until then it is still only available direct at shows or from the website shop.
There are tons of shows being confirmed in many different countries and the website is being continually updated so please keep checking.
For now here are the last dates of the duo tour with myself and Rick Foot over January and February.

Literally just got back from a fantastic German tour. Back at home in England now and making preparations for the UK tour with myself and Rick which kicks off in Southampton this Sunday.
We have lots of shows between now and the end of february. Would be great to see you at a show or two. We are performing lots of songs from the new album "Distant Empires". The album is not released until next year. It will be on ITunes etc. sometime next year in 2013, but for the moment it is best to either get down to a show and grab a copy or order from the website shop.
Really enjoying the shows with Rick. It is our first full UK tour together. Would be great to see you at a show!

Really excited to have hit the road on a long tour with myself and Rick through many parts of Europe and the UK.
There are dates coming in for Spain, France, Holland and Belgium which will be listed soon but until then, the tour dates until the end of february are here and up to date.

I have been busy recording my new studio album. Made a start and very happy with the first session. We are all meeting again in a few weeks to record some more parts. We are taking our time and trying to get it right and make it the best it can be. Loving the process.
In the meantime I have some UK summer dates and some dates for Germany.
Hope to see a few of you on the road somewhere.

Been alot happening the past few years. I feel very lucky that there has been quite a bit of new interest for me and my music in many new countries and places. It feels a bit like when I left Australia many years ago to come to the UK. That initial excitement of connecting with new audiences. It really is a special feeling. One that I can't get enough of and has given me a real shot in the arm both personally and professionally. I have also returned to being an independent artist which if you judge by history, has always worked better for me in the past and it feels right for me also. Independent in the sense that I will be back on my own label Rising Records in the future. The same label that released my Rattling Wheel album in 2005.
The last tour through Europe and the UK we had just over 3500 people come to the shows in 6 countries. Such a buzz and feels like a dream coming true to really begin to find my place in the world as a person and an artist. I have always known the music that I write and perform has a more limited audience than say pop or rock music, but I have always been cool with that in myself. I never set out in this world to become a massive star. I set out to play honest original music which people could hopefully relate to, and help us all escape the troubles of the world for a couple of hours each night. It seems hopefully I have found enough people that feel the same that I can have a job doing this through my life. Will keep writing and do what I can to make that happen..... but most of all.... enjoy all the moments along the way.
This feels like the beginning a new road. I am releasing my first new studio album in four years this year. The songs feel good, but I don't want to build it up or oversell it. Will put it out there and see where it leads. Whatever happens, there will be another long tour to promote the album later in the year. Can't wait!
For anyone reading this in Holland, I will begin touring there again this year. Not been in many years and looking forward to coming back. It will be in October. Keep an eye out for dates.
